ABOUT MEDICAL RECORDS ASSISTANT

The medical records assistant is mainly responsible for the maintenance, organization, storage, security, and retrieval of electronic / physical medical records in a hospital. They are involved in the patients’ demographic, personal and family history, issuing files to concerned departments, and supporting various audits and investigations. It is the prime responsibility of the Medical Record Assistant to ensure timely preparation of quality and accurate medical records, patient charts by following standard operating practices.

SCOPE

There is a very shortage of medical records assistants vs the requirement of the HBPO industry in India. Today the average salary ranges from Rs. 3 to 5 Lacs per annum at entry level itself.
